Why Early Access?

“Towers of Aghasba is an ambitious open-world sandbox developed by a small team with core mechanics intended to let players shape their island however they like. Involving our community in the development process will better allow us to balance, polish, and iterate on the core components of the game, as well as introduce new content and features based directly on player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Towers of Aghasba to be in Early Access for around 12-18 months to work in player feedback and incorporate all the content originally envisioned for the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We expect the full version of Towers of Aghasba to have a more complete and polished set of features and content. The game world will be expanded with more biomes, ecosystems, and village types compared to the Early Access version. The quest-line will also cover more narrative ground and reach a more dramatic conclusion in time, and the maximum number of players allowed in multiplayer sessions will increase.

During Early Access, we plan to release periodic major updates to introduce new features, areas, characters, cutscenes, and content. We will also be releasing consistent patches focusing on bug fixes and existing content polish.

Our public roadmap will provide more context on what is included in each update.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Towers of Aghasba launches in Early Access with six (6) regions to explore, three (3) types of ecosystems to grow, and three (3) types of villages/settlements to develop. There are over 50 creatures to discover and over 150 decorations to craft. The current quest-line ends with a satisfying conclusion that hints at narrative developments to come. Multiplayer play is currently capped at 4 players per session, who are able to convene on one player’s island to explore and build together. Players cannot progress the storyline together. Multiplayer in general is considered in a "prototype" stage of development.

While our Early Access launch is intended to provide a comprehensive and fun experience, our game is far from complete. There are several new features, quests, and more in development that we will be releasing alongside regular bug fixes and improvements based on constructive feedback from our player community.

Throughout the Early Access period, you may see improvements to the game’s controls, UI, and gameplay systems as you install updates.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the game’s retail price at the end of the Early Access period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll be actively monitoring all forms of feedback from our player community as we continue building on all aspects of Towers of Aghasba.

Feedback provided on our official Discord server, Steam discussion forums, and other social channels will all be reviewed and considered. We encourage our community to provide honest feedback about their experiences so that we can ensure we are creating the best game possible.”

About This Game

Decades after the Shimu people were forced to flee their homeland due to the invasion of a mysterious force known as the Withered, the Shimu have returned to reclaim their rightful home: the fantastical island of AGHASBA. As junior architect, it’s your job to rebuild the villages of your once-mighty civilization as well as nurse Aghasba’s once-thriving ecosystems back to life.

KEY FEATURES OF MULTIPLAYER

Team up with friends, and together, breathe life back into Aghasba! Each player has a unique island, their own personal world to decorate, cultivate thriving ecosystems, and restore from the blight of the Withered. In co-op multiplayer, players can team up to breathe new life into each other’s islands.

Please note that multiplayer is currently in a prototype stage.

Cooperative Gameplay: Join forces with up to three friends (4 total, including the host) to explore and revitalize the island. Engage in activities such as decorating, building, combating the Withered, planting diverse ecosystems, and gathering resources.
- ToA MP focuses solely on cooperative play, with no player-versus-player elements.
Personalized Islands: Every player maintains their own distinct island, reflecting their creative vision and efforts in healing the land. While islands remain individual and do not transfer between players, the collaborative experience allows for shared exploration and mutual assistance.
Shared Progress: Items and amity acquired during multiplayer sessions seamlessly transfer back to your personal island. This ensures that cooperative endeavors contribute meaningfully to your individual progress and development.
- Quest Progression in Co-op is currently available in a beta state. Note that any quest and story progression experienced in multiplayer is only applied to the host and does not carry over to other players in their own worlds.
