I have found a pervasive flaw in the user profiles. It does not shut the Xbox off when the time for profile has been exhausted. Also, some of the family settings are very unclearly worded: asking to buy things is actually the inverse of what the wording implies. Finally, changing the game pass tier was very difficult and not intuitive at all. Feels like Microsoft is trying to make this as complicated as possible so parents give up and allow kids unfettered access.

While its better then nothing, this app barely does the basic function of controlling your kids use of the Xbox. There are bugs in the schedule part of the app where I can no longer select "blocked". This app should make it easy for parents to have control, but it makes it unnecessarily difficult. For example why isn't there a feature to temporarily take away play days? If I want to take away 3 days, I have to spend 10 min modifying the schedule, then after 3 days, 10 min putting it back.

The user experience while trying to keep kids safe on Microsoft platforms is ROUGH. Getting 2FA working smoothly will help, but I hope Microsoft also puts some calories into making all their platforms' parental controls accessible and managable in the same place. Trying to figure out where to go to approve a kid's xbox friend request is especially, and needlessly, frustrating so far.
